CEP 800- Learning in School and Other Settings
Summer 2012
Professor: Leigh Graves Wolf
This course took us out of the classroom and into the world to bring together the knowledge we had learned in school and the knowledge of the outside world. One particular project was interviewing random people to find out about prior misconceptions and how they can hinder one's education. This course was a great demonstration of combining learning in school with learning outside of school.

CEP 807 - Capstone Portfolio -Proseminar in Educational Technology
Fall 2013
Professors: Joshua Rosenberg, Andrea Zellner, and Matthew Koehler
The Capstone Portfolio class is the culmination of the Ed Tech Masters program. It is a time of reflection over the previous courses, as well as a compilation of work. The portfolio is a great way to market myself as a professional to potential employers.

CEP 810- Teaching for Understanding with Technology
Fall 2011
Professor: Sandra Plair
The introductory course to the program was eye-opening for me since it demonstrated the plethora of technology tools and web-based resources that could be used to help improve my teaching. The tools allow teachers to differentiate material in order to reach all types of learners.

CEP 811- Adapting Innovative Technologies in Education
Fall 2011
Professor: Emily Stone
This course was so beneficial since it focused on taking different technologies and using them in the classroom. Using various programs, such as Microsoft Powerpoint and iMovie, I learned how to apply them to the classroom and create useful lessons that help students understand material as well as new technology.

CEP 812- Applying Educational Technology to Practice
Spring 2012
Professor: Jodi Spicer
This course taught me how to apply different aspects of technology in the high school setting. I attempted to use iPod applications such as "Science Lab" to help students practice vocabulary words and complete virtual labs. Using Quia, the online quiz application, has helped me give instant feedback to students and create games for students to review information. Quizlet has given me the opportunity to create online flashcards for students to practice new vocabulary.

CEP 813 - Electronic Portfolios
Fall 2013
Professor: Patrick Dickson
How can teachers use electronic portfolios in the classroom? This course is designed to help teachers examine the different platforms of technology as well as how to integrate those platforms into the classroom. Although it is focused primarily on Language Arts teachers, I was interested in how I could use portfolios in the science classroom. Teachers should encourage students to display work and get feedback from others around them. Electronic portfolios are a great way for students to exhibit their work.

CEP 815- Technology and Leadership
Summer 2012
Professor: Leigh Graves Wolf
The Technology and Leadership course was one that I was very excited to take because I think it is important to share knowledge when possible. My class held an Educational Technology Leadership Conference during the summer in Dublin. There were many educators from all over the world who attended. I learned about the process of organizing and presenting a conference and realized that teachers need to work with each other as much as possible to maximize students' education.

CEP 817- Learning Technology through Design
Spring 2013
Professor: Punya Mishra
How important is design to learning? Very. This course is demonstrating how aesthetics can lead to a better understanding of a concept. Students can see the same material in various ways and interpret it differently. It's important how material is presented to students and this course is current showing me how to design for the learners.

CEP 818- Creativity in Technology
Fall 2012
Professor: Punya Mishra, Laura Terry, and Kristen Kereluik
This was the most stressful class of the program due to the amount of creativity that needed to happen. Creativity is not necessarily something that is intrinsic; it is something that needs to be nurtured throughout a long period time. I focused on finding creative outlets for the various topics in my science classes in order to reach as many students as possible.

CEP 820- Teaching K12 Students Online
Spring 2012
Professor: Michelle Schira Hagerman
This course was very beneficial for me since my school has implemented a 1 to 1 Laptop Program for the high school students. It aimed at demonstrating good platforms for online classes, how to resolve issues with technology problems, and developing a test lesson that could be used in a online class.

CEP 822- Approaches to Educational Research
Summer 2012
Professor: Leigh Graves Wolf
Educational research is imperative to teachers in order to keep refreshing ideas. It's important for teachers to stay current and have the opportunity to offer feedback on educational research. I really enjoyed developing a research proposal and learning how to research grants for different classroom materials.
