Teaching Philosophy
Nelson Mandela is right. Education is the only thing that will change the world. I believe that being a teacher is one of the most powerful professions on Earth. Someone once said that teaching is what makes all other professions possible. Teachers lay the seed for students to sprout into different branches of the population.
Every student has a right to an education. Every student is entitled to a safe, productive, learning environment. My role is to teach them the tools to have a successful education. I believe being a good teacher is taking material and presenting it in various ways for students to comprehend it. Some students learn better by being active; others by reading and writing; and still others by listening and seeing. Teachers must be able to teach all of these ways to help all students become successful.
I want students to learn that they have the power within themselves to change their world. Perhaps their home lives are not what they want. The only way to change the present situation is to get an education. My hope is to teach students that they have the power in themselves to become whatever they wish.
